1 Before the ASSESSMENT you should… 1. Give a clean, fully charged device and enough electrodes (recommendation 8 / 3 days) to the client. 2. Conduct a fitness test. 3. Provide clear instructions for making the measurement (Info letter). 4. Agree on the assessment schedule and when/how to return the device. 1

2 The Measurement is not recommended for persons who… 1. Have a serious / complex heart condition. 2. Have a high fever. 3. Have had a heart transplant. 4. Feel overloaded or stressed. 2

3 The Bodyguard device is not to be used … 1. Abroad 2. While swimming or taking a bath 3. When drunk 4. While walking under big powerlines 3

4 What to do If you encounter problems with the bodyguard? 1. Immediately send it back to Firstbeat in Jyväskylä, Finland. 2. 6 regarding recovery, a balanced situation is usually indicated when … 1. The body resources graph returns to the starting level or beyond at the end of each measurement period (app. 24 hrs). 2. The person’s sleep time is over 10h each night. 3. Recovery is found during specific / appropriate time periods (e.g. breaks, relaxation moments, sleep). 4. Heart rate variability (RMSSD) is higher during sleep when compared to the daytime level. 6

7 Physical activity index tells about… 1. The amount of physical activity relative to health recommendations. 2. Positive effects of strength training. 3. The person’s maximal oxygen uptake. 4. Possible overtraining state. 7

8 You should consider further tests if… 1. The specialist report has a notification about possible ectopic heartbeats. 2. The heart rate level is clearly elevated throughout the measurement period (minHR >65 bpm, average HR >100). 3. The amount and quality of recovery are exceptionally low without an obvious explanation. 4. The person is not interested in the assessment. 8

Summary / group reports about group results. 4. Training effect or physical workload reports for already conducted lifestyle assessments. 9

Marking down as many goals as possible. 4. Making a personal plan and setting goals that support personal well-being. 10
