The Planets

This group of stars and planets is called a galaxy.

This galaxy is called the Milky Way. Planet Earth is in this galaxy This galaxy is called the Milky Way. Planet Earth is in this galaxy. We live on planet Earth!

This is our solar system. There are nine planets.

All the planets move round the sun. The sun is a huge hot star.

This planet is called Mercury. It is close to the sun, and very hot This planet is called Mercury. It is close to the sun, and very hot. No one lives here!

This planet is called Venus. Venus has poisonous clouds This planet is called Venus. Venus has poisonous clouds. No one lives here!

This is planet Earth. It has water and land. Things grow here This is planet Earth. It has water and land. Things grow here. We live here!

This planet is called Mars. Mars is red and very dusty This planet is called Mars. Mars is red and very dusty. No one lives here!

Rocket ships can travel in space and visit the moon.
