If the thing you are talking about is a little bit farther away, use one of the Spanish words for “that” or “those”: ese esa esos esas ©2010 Teacher’s Discovery

All of these Spanish words for “this,” “that,” “these” and “those” are called demonstratives. este esta ese esa aquel aquella estos estas esos esas aquellos aquellas ©2010 Teacher’s Discovery
In the past, you had to add an accent mark if the demonstrative was a pronoun. Ejemplos: Yo quiero este libro. = I want this book. Yo quiero éste. = I want this one.
