Why wear a uniform? Also purposes and symbolism
Origins of the military uniform Uniforms have been around for thousands of years. Basic purpose was to identify friendly/enemy soldiers on the battlefield. As time when on its purpose expanded to provide for specific missions and tasks. As the purposes and tasks expanded so did the number of uniforms for the organization. This is why there are field, service, dress, formal and task-specific uniforms such as flight suits.
When to wear the uniform (and when NOT to):
CAP weight and grooming standards If you don’t meet the standards, choose a CAP-distinctive uniform. We have a distinctive option for almost all occasions and AF-style options.
