Open Photoshop File>New
Choose the Rectangle shape tool Make sure there is a color in the fill and no stroke Then Hold SHIFT and pull a square
Layer > Rasterize> shape
Go to google and search for a vector image that you would like to use the shape of for your cutouts Right click image and save to H drive Open it in Photoshop
using the selection tool select the whole image then Edit > copy
In the rectangle file (the first file) Edit <paste
Move and size the image (cat) onto the top side of your shape to your liking
Make sure you are on the image (cat) layer and choose the magic wand tool. With the magic wand tool select the area of your image
once the area is selected click on the shape layer and Edit >cut
Edit paste move the new paste on the bottom side of shape, directly below.
Move the original image/cat to the left side of the box.
Using the magic wand again select the image choose the original shape layer edit>cut
Edit> paste move the pasted item directly across on the other side
For decorative purposes you can cut and of the middle out or add shapes but DO NOTHING TO THE OUTSIDE
when you are completely happy with your “tile” Delete the image/cat Merge the layers/shapes select all the layers and right click > merge layers
