Building More Vibrant CWL Councils The Catholic Women’s League of Canada September, 2016

Members are looking for: A sense of Belonging To grow in their faith life To feel like they are making a difference Spiritual program – 20 minutes It is what connects us – all Catholic women wanting to learn more about our faith

A Sense of Belonging A meaningful community where people are called by name and supported People are accepted and feel valued, visible and included

To grow in their faith life To know Jesus personally To become a Disciple of Christ Biblical and doctrinal formation that brings about spiritual, personal and community growth

4 Objects of the League To achieve individual and collective spiritual development To promote the teachings of the Catholic church To uphold and defend Christian education and values in the modern world To exemplify the Christian ideal in home and family life

To feel like they are making a difference To become an apostle – “one who is sent” Missionary commitment that moves members from the pews out to meet those on the periphery “to bring people home”

4 Objects of the League To protect the sanctity of human life To recognize the human dignity of all people everywhere To contribute to the understanding and growth of religious freedom, social justice, peace and harmony To enhance the role of women in church and society

How do we achieve this? Meaningful meetings Engaging members Mentorship Training
