Reporting the Course level RWR Assessment data

RWR Assessment Plan Approval The course-level assessment plan must be approved prior to the collection of data by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness if the course is for a 2015-2016 grant or by the RWR Assessment Committee if it is for 2016-2020 grants. The Assessment Plan and Report must be submitted in WEAVE and the AVP of Institutional Effectiveness notified when the plan is complete for 2015-2016 grant recipients or the RWR Assessment Committee notified if for a 2016-2020 grant recipient so that the review process can begin. The review process will take a minimum of two weeks to complete.

What are the data requirements FOR THE RWR INITIATIVE? Course Level Assessment Data To be reported by the RWR faculty member to the Office of Experiential Learning in a Spreadsheet format. To be reported by the RWR faculty member through WEAVE for the specific course in a stand alone portal. To include agreements, instruments and findings. Program Level Assessment Data To be reported by the Program Assessment Coordinator in WEAVE for the program. To include instruments and findings.

RWR Goal RWR Goal: To prepare students for life in the real world by providing authentic learning opportunities that connect academic courses with real-world experiences.

The four outcomes which will measure student learning Students will apply professional (discipline-specific) knowledge in an authentic setting. Students will demonstrate effective communication in a professionally authentic form. Students will reflect on their work – identifying strengths and weaknesses of product and process, and deriving directions for future efforts. Students’ professional behaviors will reflect a commitment to quality work. May need to reword the outcomes to indicate: Students who participate in Real World Ready courses will ……

Adding an Outcome: Step 1 Step 1: If you would like to add an outcome, go to the outcome area in WEAVE and click on add.

Adding an Outcome Step 2 Step 2: Type in a descriptive title and then type in the outcome in the textbox. Indicate if the outcome is a student learning outcome.

Adding an Outcome Step 3 Step 3: Identify associations which are relevant to the outcome. Determine the Established in Cycle and the Active Through Cycle. Mark the item as Draft until you have finalized and reviewed all items. This usually happens at the end of the cycle. Mark as Final before submitting the report in February. Be sure to SAVE.

How will the outcomes be Measured? The student learning outcomes will measured utilizing the RWR master rubric. The student learning outcomes will be measured utilizing analytical rubrics or instruments which lead to the master rubric.

What led to the master Rubric Include in the measurement section a copy of the instrument(s) utilized to gather the data for the Master Rubric. Explain who will perform the measure and give details of the measurement process.

Adding a Measure Step 1   Step 1: Identify the source of the evidence.

Adding a Measure Step 2 Step 2: Type in the condensed description and the description of the measure.

Adding a Measure Step 3 Step 3: Identify the Outcome. The measure is associated with by marking the appropriate box. Set Cycle active dates. Determine if this is the Draft/In Progress or Final version. Be sure to SAVE.

Setting Targets Of the students who participate in Real-World Ready Experiences ___ % will … 

Adding the Target Type in the Target including the expectation, method and how the data will be presented. Set Cycle active dates. Determine if this is the Draft/In Progress or Final version. Be sure to SAVE.

Findings Indicates whether outcome has been Met, Partially Met, or Not Met. Indicates number of students who completed the assessment. Semester data is reported separately. Data are presented for each outcome in the form of quantitative and qualitative descriptors. Data tables are included to give a thorough picture of findings as necessary. For example, include number of students at different levels on rubric—met, exceeded, etc..
