Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam, Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmathullahi Wa Barakatahu. This is an appeal for the construction of Masjid at Mugalivakkam, a suburb being developed about 20Kms near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

NEED FOR THE MASJID developed as suburb approximately having a Muslim Mugalivakkam, actually a village now being developed as suburb approximately having a Muslim population of 100 families Every month new settlers including Muslim brothers from Tamil Nadu and other states settle here thanks to DLF, L&T, IT companies and other industries coming up in the Sriperumpudur corridor There is no Masjid in this village but Masjids are located around 2 to 5 km radius. Presently Muslim brothers go to nearby Porur Masjid for Wakth, Jummah and also during Ramadhan/Eid prayers No Ladies Masjid is available close by area.

THE PROPOSED NEW MASJID INSHA ALLAH WILL HELP FOR THE MUSLIMS OF MUGALIVAKKAM AS WELL AS A SIZEABLE NUMBER OF MUSLIM BROTHERS COME FOR WORK IN THE COMPANIES AROUND MUGALIVAKKAM

TEMPORARY MASJID During the month of last Ramalhan, 5 Wakth, Jummah and Taraviah Prayers were performed in a Business Office owned by one of our Muslim brother. A temporary Masjid was formed in the terrace of a house owned by one of our Muslim brother and started functioning as full fledged Mosque from 09 January 2009 onwards. An Imam has been appointed and 5 Wakth prayers as well as Jummah prayers are presently being performed in the temporary Masjid.

PURCHASE OF LAND With Allah’s help a piece of land admeasuring 1200 Sq. Ft. has been purchased for the purpose of building a Masjid. The entire fund of Rs.25,00,000 ( US $ 58,140 ) for the purchase of land has been contributed by the organizers as well as local Muslim brothers. The place is situated half a kilometer from Mugalivakkam bus stand and centrally located. The plot is sited in a corner having road in eastern and Northern side.

ON 10 MAR 2009, AFTER THE FAJR PRAYER THE DIRECTION OF QIBLA WAS MARKED AS A FIRST STEP FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW MASJID MASHA ALLAH

PROPOSAL FOR CONSTRUCTION GROUND FLOOR Insha Allah it is proposed to construct ground plus two floors with a total built up area of 3263 sq.fts. Front side, from east entrance in Ground floor will have Gents Ablution, Toilets & staircase proceeding to first floor. Behind this cordoned area with entrance from Northern side which will have a Ladies prayer hall, ablution and toilets. There will be a separating wall in between ladies prayer hall & the front entrance of the masjid (Gents ablution area)

FIRST & SECOND FLOOR First floor will have the main prayer hall with a capacity of 122 members ( 80 members in the inner masjid and 42 members in the outer masjid ) and continuity of stair case proceeding to second floor. Second floor will have a prayer hall with a capacity of 122 members as same as the first floor and continuity of stair case proceeding to the terrace.

The association has been registered under TN Societies Regn Act 1975 (Regn No. 49 of 2009). Among other social obligations, construction of Masjid is the prime task of MMWA.
