In Albania, there are many who live on the margins In Albania, there are many who live on the margins. This includes the Romany community, who are excluded from everyday society. Albania is also one of the poorest countries in Europe.

What’s happening in Albania? The Romany community are left to live on rubbish dumps. These communities struggle with poverty, debt and unemployment, with an average income of only £1.15 a day. There is no education for children – instead they beg to help their family to afford food.

How is BMS helping? By providing a safe space for adults and children The BMS project, called Tek Ura, is providing preschool and English lessons for children, and meeting spaces to eat, talk, pray and meet Jesus for adults. By improving general health Through providing food and relief services to the most vulnerable families, as well as health screening and support. By restoring electricity supplies This is vital for general wellbeing, and will increase trust between the community and BMS workers there.
