Sun By: Gemma & Camille

Size The diameter of the sun is about 865,000 miles

Shape The shape of the sun is a sphere

Location The sun is 92.96 million miles away from the Earth.

Composition the sun is made up of gases such as hydrogen and helium. There is 92.1% hydrogen and 7.8% helium.

Ability to Support Life The sun is made of fire. No living thing would survive because of its heat.

Ability to Produce Light The sun is a star at the center of the solar system. It is a hot ball of gases that gives great amounts of energy.

Additional Facts The sun has been shining for at least 4 billion years. The temperature at the sun’s core is about 15 million degrees Celsius. More then 1 million Earths could fit inside the sun.
