CSCS Fundraising Committee CSCS has after 3 years of effort secured the sole concession rights to the Olympic Committee’s National Shotgun Shooting events located at Fort Carson. National Olympic Championships July 11-18, 2008 National Junior Olympics Championships July 26-30, 2008

CSCS Fundraising Committee Responsible for only two events in 2008 Success determines the annual monies to support the entire squadron The cadets and all squadron programs depend upon the committee - Failure is not an option! Parent support is critical! Best opportunity to give back to CAP for all that it does for your cadet all year long!

CSCS Fundraising Strategic Direction History: For 3 years CSCS competed against commercial and other non-profits for the opportunity to work these lucrative and prestigious events! In 2007, the Olympic shooting committee gave CSCS the sole rights based on our impressive quality, fair pricing, and impressive and courteous cadets based on feedback from the Olympic and national competitors that attended the events. Today: CSCS must work with Mark Weeks the new Olympic head coach to ensure our good relationships built over time are maintained and CSCS can support and meet the needs of the Olympic Program Future: CSCS retains this honored position to 2013 when the Olympic plans to hold the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS at Fort Carson and CSCS squadron will be in the world’s view as the sole concessionaire for the event!! This will be HUGE!! The Olympics plans to invest $1.2 million into the facilities alone for this one event! This includes a real concession area for us!!

CSCS Fundraising Committee 2008 Key Success Factors Establish a 6-10 person permanent committee Transition to new chairperson dedicated to long-term Squadron success Deliver donation request letters to every conceivable donor by 2nd week of May Schedule personnel for all event coverage by end of June

CSCS Fundraising Committee Critical Quality Factors Setup and teardown logistics Food purchasing and resupply logistics Ensure food preparation and delivery (cooking) is highest quality possible Ensure sanitation is constant Ensure cadets are schooled in courtesy and making change Event staffing commitments are kept Ensure relations with Olympic coaches are continuous and respectful

CSCS Fundraising Committee New This Year: Need to establish a Cook Tent concession Need to coordinate timed food pickup for Olympic athletes Need to perform 1 community service day to: Sand and lacquer two gun racks Sand and lacquer 12 benches and tables Lacquer four 400ft 2-rail fences Two 15x20 shade lattice areas Olympics will provide all materials With 111 members, this should be only one day!

CSCS Active Participation Policy Letter states: Fundraiser is a unit activity that all cadets are expected to participate in if at all possible with parental support!!

CSCS Needs everyone connected to the squadron to do the following: Put the fundraising dates on your calendar so you don’t schedule over them! Committed Parents and Senior Members must become committee members by contacting ASAP 1st Lt. James Heimerman at email: heimermanj@centechgroup.com or call: 360-2492 (evenings) Parents must be examples to their cadets that squadron support means committing to truly supporting the squadron and fulfilling that commitment.
