About the author Dan Gutman is the author of My Weird School. He was born in New York City on October 19, 1955. He was raised in New Jersey by his mother because his father left them. He graduated from Rutgers University.

Introduction My Weird School is about a kid named A.J., his friends, and his crazy teachers. It’s called My Weird School because the teachers are always doing weird things. Mr. Granite is from another planet, Mrs. Yonkers wears a foam cheese hat and when she was sick a robot that she made replaced her, and Ms. Daisy doesn't know what's going on.

A.J. A.J. stands for Arlo Jervis. He is the main character in the book series. He doesn't want anyone to know his real name because he doesn't want his friends to make fun of him.

Ryan Ryan is A.J.’s friend, he will eat anything. Once he ate the seat cushion off the bus. Ryan always sticks straws up his nose at lunch to make other people laugh and to look like a walrus.

Michael Michael is also another friend of A.J. Michael’s shoes are always untied. He and Ryan sometimes makes fun of A.J. and say “A.J. and Andrea are in love, when are you gonna get married?”.

Neil Everyone calls Neil the nude kid, because one day the bus driver got a call from Mr. Klutz (the principal) and said to pick up the NEW kid, but Ms. Kormal (the bus driver) thought he said the nude kid.

Alexia Alexia is A.J.’s friend and she rides a skateboard. She moved to Ella Mentry School in 3rd grade. She is super smart. She tells A.J. the answers when they take a test. She doesn't play with other girls she plays with the boys.

Andrea Andrea is Emilys best friend. Andrea and A.J. are enemies. They are always fighting about different things. Once Andrea said that violence is not the way to solve problems. A.J. said what do you have against violins? She said “you’re a dumb head!”

Emily Emily is Andreas friend, she always follows her around and agrees with everything she says. She has a crush on Ryan. Whenever he sticks straws up his nose, she always laughs.

Mr. Klutz Mr. Klutz is the principal of Ella Mentry School. He always makes crazy deals with the kids like reading a million pages or doing a thousand math problems. Then he will climb to the top of the flagpole or put a video arcade in the gym and then kiss a pig.
