Know Your Diabetes ABCs A for the A1C test Shows blood glucose (blood sugar) levels for the last three months Goal for most people with diabetes is below 7 B for Blood pressure Goal for most people with diabetes is below 130/80 C for Cholesterol LDL goal for most people with diabetes is less than 100 HDL goal for most people with diabetes is above 40 KNOW YOUR TARGETS!

Make Healthy Food Choices Eat variety of colorful vegetables and fruits Choose foods with high fiber Look for whole grain cereals, breads, pasta, and rice Reduce fat intake Choose lean meats and low- or non-fat dairy Drink water
