Selfie-Portrait 9/15/17

I’m sorry I’m out again today. These absences were not planned.

Yes, this is for a grade.

Today’s Objectives Objective: We will draw a self-portrait by drawing from a selfie. Product: We will draw a portrait of ourselves. Evaluation: Students will be evaluated based on their “shapes” (drawing what you see and not using “symbols” from younger years), lines, proportions, participation, and thoughtful reflection.

Today’s Agenda Take a selfie! Use your selfie to draw a “selfie-portrait” (see what I did there?) Draw this portrait in your sketchbook

Take a Selfie

Take a Selfie Be sure to consider the background. There should be something there, but consider not making it toooooo complex. Avoid having anyone else in your picture. No, you may not add a filter that gives you cat ears, whiskers, etc, or anything of that sort. The image should actually be of you. Yes, you may use a selfie you took before today if you’d like to do so.

Draw a selfie-Portrait

Draw a selfie-Portrait Use your selfie to draw a picture of yourself.

Tips

Tips Don’t try to draw your facial features; that’s difficult. Instead, pay attention to the highlights and shadows and draw those (it’ll come together little by little). Consider turning off the function on your cellphone that rotates the screen automatically and draw this upside down. You might find it easier.

No, you don’t need to shade like I did. In fact, don’t shade. We haven’t learned shading yet, so lines will work just fine.

The rubric should look familiar

It doesn’t look right on here at all It doesn’t look right on here at all. I’ll add it to Moodle for ya to check out there.

This will be graded, but it is not homework. Make sure your Upside Down Drawing is finished for Monday since I haven’t been there to collect it on Thursday or Friday.

Have yourself a good day!

That’s all I have to say about that.
