Manage Personal Effectiveness Lesson 3 Initiating programs

Research some health issues that affect personal effectiveness at work. Research some wellness strategies that might be able to be introduced at your “workplace”

A knowledge and understanding of these can be gained through: Management and HR journals and texts HR associations Internet research Government publications Trade union publications Industrial agreements networking

You are looking for information on past, present and future issues that impact on individuals or groups in your workforce and current best practice.

Become the “Employer of choice” Be proactive in your field or amongst your competitors Join together with others in your locality to access facilities or programs

How about a casual dress day or a “call in well” day to start the ball rolling? How do you put up a case to management? How do you communicate it? How do you assess the costs and benefits? How do you plan it? How do you measure results/ success How do improve it for next year?

Planning proposal After you develop options for addressing the identified health issue you put up a proposal for taking the project further. You nee to obtain support from senior management for your preferred option/s

You are in the “initiate” phase Define your overall project goal Identify all stakeholders, their needs and their expectations Identify project objectives Identify initial work and resources and basic milestones Identify all constraints, assumptions and risks

Project Scope provides a clear and refined description of The project goal What is to be achieved How it is to be achieved Who will achieve it When it will be achieved What resources will be required or utilised
