Range Finder Block Diagram

Design Specifications Battery life on final product will be at minimum 5 minutes of continuous run. The sensor should be able to accurately sense objects up to 254 inches. The sensor should be able to accurately sense objects as close as 6 inches. The sensor will be able to able to detect distance with accuracy up to ± 2 inches..

Actual Performance Battery life -- CHECK! Sense Objects up to 254 inches (Approx. 21 ft) -- CHECK! Sense as close as 6 inches -- CHECK! Detect with accuracy up to ± 2 inches --- This accuracy was only able to be reached up to 4 feet from the sensor. After that, it became much less accurate… Power Consumption -- Next Slide

Power Consumption No Light With Light With Light/Fast Beeping 51 mA (459 mW) 65 mA (585 mW) 66 mA (594 mW)   Battery: 500 mAH 9.8 hrs 7.69 hrs 7.58 hours Savings with power mode: 2.1 hours battery life 126 mW power
