Stanley Chow Portraits: Research (www.stanleychowillustration.com) 2. Look at a range of portraits, what makes them unique? How would you describe his style? Copy and paste some images here and label them. 1. What is your favourite portrait by Stanley Chow? Explain why you like it. This is my favorite portrait by Stanley Chow because Doctor Who is my favorite television show. This portrait is of Tom Baker a actor in the show. What makes Stanley Chow’s pictures unique are the way he makes them different to every other cartoonist out there. He mainly try to emphasize the facial features which other artists don’t do and also just does a simple background. Nothing to fancy. He uses different contrasts in the facial features to define them. He always puts the eyes as little black blobs like they’re not important. He also gives his portraits long and thin necks so we focus more on the face. I think he’s used colours to focus you on his best bits of his work which is pretty clever 3. Which celebrity will you chose? Copy and paste some ideas here: These need to be photographs of your chosen celebrity. (Head only).
