INTRODUCTION WHO WE ARE….a diverse group of passionate women that have joined together to exert positive change. OUR MISSION…to empower and support individuals in our community though activities which promote inclusiveness and strengthen diversity.

WHY ARE WE HERE? A safe space for like-minded women to unite and join in our efforts…

GOALS Our goals are to address… Voter apathy. Getting young people involved in the election process. Funding for our progressive candidates. Redistricting. Educating the community on issues related to diversity of race, religion, and sexual orientation. Fighting systemic racism.

THREE TYPES OF MEETINGS WAYS TO GET INVOLVED THREE TYPES OF MEETINGS Action Meetings Specific activities that target our mission and goals. 2. Speaker Forums Invited regional and national speakers. 3. Networking Activities Fun activities that promote inclusiveness and strengthen diversity.

COMMITTEE: WOMEN’S ISSUES Goal: To support and encourage women with regard to reproductive rights and justice, economic justice, the LGBTQ community and violence against women. Activities: Counter Protest at Abortion Clinic (Mon.-Fri., 9:30-12:30, Sat. 7:30-1:00) Queen City Clinic Escorts (Next Training 1/29/17 @ 7:00) LGBTQ events

COMMITTEE: CULTURAL INCLUSIVENESS Goal: To promote, support and educate the community on diversity of race, religion, and cultures. Activities: Summer Picnics and barbeques with food from around the world. Music from across the globe. Speakers discussing topics related to customs, holidays and rituals.

COMMITTEE: EDUCATIONAL ISSUES Goal: To ensure that our schools engage in fair and equitable practices and programs that support, encourage and respect racial and cultural diversity, those with disabilities, and sexual orientation. Activities: To be determined by chair and members

COMMITTEE: POLITICAL ACTION Goal: To improve the political and social climate in our communities, get Democrats elected locally and statewide, and increase pressure on our current elected officials and hold them accountable for their actions. Activities: Organize precincts in county Coordinate activities with Democratic party Stay abreast of redistricting issues (see Jeff Jackson game plan) Educate Voters Phone banking, sending postcards and social media outlets.
