Essential Skills Wales ICT Level 2

ESW ICT L2 Two significantly different purposes. Two different outcomes. Assignments written so that candidates evidence sufficient level 2 features within the final outcomes. Across the two activities the criteria within 2.3.1 must be evidenced.

ESW ICT Level 2 You must provide evidence that you can: ICT2.1.1 Use ICT systems ICT2.1.1 Describe how you will approach an activity that involves the use of ICT. ICT2.1.2 Use ICT independently to carry out the activity effectively. ICT2.1.3 Follow safe, healthy and secure working practices at all times.

ESW ICT L2 Include assignment brief Candidate statement of understanding. Plan – steps to take (future tense). All stages Research – review Include H&S considerations

Find, select and exchange information ESW ICT Level 2 You must provide evidence that you can: ICT2.2 Find, select and exchange information ICT2.2.1 Find, select and use different sources of appropriate ICT-based and non-ICT-based information. ICT2.2.2 Search for, select and get relevant ICT-based and non-ICT-based information. ICT2.2.3 Enter, save, communicate and exchange ICT-based information to suit your purpose.

ESW ICT L2 Search Log? Evidence of searching and obtaining ICT based information Must include non-ICT source Must show selection Reliability of the sources and/or establish the copyright status.

Develop and present information ESW ICT Level 2 You must provide evidence that you can: ICT2.3 Develop and present information ICT2.3.1 Enter, organise, develop, format and combine ICT-based and non-ICT-based information to suit content and your purpose, in the form of: Text Tables images numbers records ICT2.3.2 Present combined information, using consistent formats and layouts that are appropriate to your purpose and audience, using ICT, and review your work.

ESW ICT L2 For each activity show development through at least one draft: text, number, image, tables and records into the final outcomes. Text e.g. fonts, justification, tabulation, changing margins and page layout, customizing bullet points, columns, changing line spacing etc.

ESW ICT L2 Number development: spreadsheet must show use of at least 3 functions and/or two stage calculations (such as =sum, =max, =average, =today, =count) to complete calculations. must feature derived result / graph in 2.3 outcome

ESW ICT L2 Image development (pictures, charts, etc.) e.g. cropping, use of text wraps, framing, rotating. If charts and graphs are used they must be labeled correctly. Table development: e.g. re-sizing columns or rows, adding shading, merge and splitting of cells, borders

ESW ICT L2 Records development: database or spreadsheets: evidence manipulation e.g. sorting, filtering or querying. Across the two outcomes, include developed text, number, image table and records Review: of outcome in terms of fitness for purpose whole process of the work

ESW ICT L2 - Additional evidence Safe, healthy and secure working practices following the completion of each activity Email (once) send receive and respond with attachment Saving evidence of folders and files back up (external drive?) Each activity.
