Call To Worship: (Responsive) “Where is the child…?” the Magi ask. We are here to seek out this child in order to worship and adore him. “When they saw that the star had stopped… …they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” We are here to kneel with the Magi and offer the gift of ourselves to Jesus, God’s beloved one. We are here to be fed with spirit so the world may be fed through us. We are here to glimpse the beauty of God who dwells among us. Let us worship together.

Prayer of Adoration and Confession Passing of the Peace The Peace of Christ be with you all. And also with you.

Hymn: VU 79 “Arise, Your Light Has Come” (please rise in body or in spirit)

WORD Hebrew Scriptures: Isaiah 60:1-6 (read in Japanese) Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of YHWH has risen upon you. For darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but YHWH will arise upon you, and God’s glory will appear over you. Nations shall come to your light, and leaders to the brightness of your dawn. Lift up your eyes and look around; they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far away, and your daughters shall be carried on their nurses' arms. Then you shall see and be radiant; your heart shall thrill and rejoice, because the abundance of the sea shall be brought to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you. A multitude of camels shall cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come. They shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praise of YHWH. The Word of God. Thanks be to God.

Gospel: Matthew 2:1-12 The Gospel of Christ. Praise to you, O Christ.

Sermon: “Arise, Shine, Your Light Has Come”

Sung: O holy, holy, holy God, O God of time and space Sung: O holy, holy, holy God, O God of time and space. All earth and sea and sky above bear witness to your grace. Hosanna in the highest heav’n, creation sings your praise. And blessed is the One who comes and bears your name always.
