CRT / Test area @ KEK Fuji Tomokatsu Hayakawa Nagoya University 12th B2GM 2012/7/23

TOP assembly room & TOP preparation/test area 12th B2GM 2012/7/23

(B4) Slide from Horii-sensei (2012/05/24, PID meeting) ATLAS (TGC) Panel House @ KEK Fuji (B4) reused as “TOP assembly room” (Construction completed @ June 23rd) Tent constructed @ side space for preparation & test area (Construction completed @ July 5th) Provision of infrastructure: Done (thanks to Adachi-sensei & Hayashi-san) Now ready to start our studies @ Fuji PID mornning meeting Slide from Horii-sensei (2012/05/24, PID meeting) 2018/7/6

TOP assembly room Buffer room Dark room Buffer room Clean Buffer Room (Cleanliness Level: ISO7) Quartz temporary storage ATLAS Panel House which has 1 big FFU (Clean air dumpers not worked yet) Clean Dark Room (Cleanliness Level: ISO6) Quartz acceptance test & glue Installation into QBB “Clean Dark booth” that has 12 FFUs in the Panel House Dark room 12th B2GM 2012/7/23

TOP assembly room (Cleanliness Level) Lab. visit Limit maintenance Limit Buffer room Dark room Clean Booth Setup Commissioning Quartz Measurement Buffer Room FFU & Clean Dark Booth work well. Performance: Class 100(Dark) / Class 1000 (Buffer) (1 worker) achieved easily. Quartz: Bring some dust  Procedure to be improved (Worker training is also important. ) 12th B2GM 2012/7/23

Fuji Side Space (Preparation / Test area) Cosmic-Ray Test (CRT), HV test, QBB, FrontEnd,… Any others? Space (is limited. Please share the tables/racks etc ) CRT stand: 400cmx490cmx500cm(H) CRT DAQ, HV test, …: 300cmx300cmx250cm(H) Electronics & PMT, …: 250cmx200cmx250cm(H) Mechanics: 240cmx490cmx500cm(H) 12th B2GM 2012/7/23

CRT preparation 12th B2GM 2012/7/23

Cosmic-Ray Test (CRT) Originally proposed by Gray-sensei Start/Timing counter Modified Belle TOF counter 40mmX60mmX200mm Scinti. CRT preparation Counter Tracker Block Stand 5 Shortened TOF counters (20cm) tested in May Read out: CAMAC ADC + TDC Intrinsic time resolution: 80-100ps (w/o position correction) ΔTOF (4layers) ~ 80-100/ sqrt(4) = 40-50ps (to be refined) Tracker Nagoya SciFi Tracker under preparation @ Nagoya U. SciFi planes already prepared by Matsuoka-san Front-end Board mass(?) production ASAP Read out: CAMAC TDC (3377) Expected position resolution: 0.3-0.6mm Block Iron: 1m X 0.5m X 0.25m iron block x 6 Concrete: 1mX2mX0.5mx8 Stand …. 12th B2GM 2012/7/23

CRT preparation Schedule Deadline (CRT) Deadline (LEPS) Jul Aug Sept Oct Nov Dec Counter Tracker HV Stand Blocks / parts etc. Test (t resolution etc.) Production Assembly (~80ch) Production CAEN HV module test Repair @ CAEN Shipping for LEPS beam test Design & construction by ???? Final CRT stand Construction(?) Backup option LEPS beam test preparation LEPS beam test Nagoya TOP meeting 2012/7/18

CRT stand a proposal (backup option) A well-designed CRT stand Quite important for CRT. I totally agree. No objections... Reviews and beam tests in the near future Assembly space and “test bench” in the tent to be prepared @ the beginning of Sept…. Tight construction schedule Very tight to fix the design & to construct it @ KEK Fuji B4 by the middle of August It seems that we don’t have enough materials / parts for CRT stand yet… A proposal / backup option Very temporary CRT setup (only for data taking this summer) only if well-designed CRT stand is not ready. Arrangement : ~1 week, Construction: ~1 week, Assembly: ~2 week  ~1 month The setup to be disassembled ASAP when the well-designed stand is ready 12th B2GM 2012/7/23

Simplest CRT setup (2012 summer) Only materials / parts prepared @ KEK now Save-saving design (enough space for scaffolding & rolling tower) Fast & easy construction (~ 1 week) + operational test (~ 1week) Access Al frame ~1m Belle ACC / Gas Cherenkov(?) Access TOP (Al support frame) Nagoya Tracker Trigger/Timing Counters (20cm TOF x 4 layers) Rolling Tower (or scaffolding) 1.8m Iron 1m(t) Iron blocks 1m X 0.5m X 1m(t) (or Lead + Iron blocks) C-shape blocks (or Al support frame Access Access Belle TOFx1 Floor level 1.3m 3.3m 12th B2GM 2012/7/23

Summary TOP assembly room & preparation / test area are ready. Enough cleanliness level in the Panel house easily achieved if users perform proper maintenance work regularly.  Tent for TOP preparation / test constructed. Let’s (re)start QBB / electronics / Cosmic-ray test @ KEK Fuji. CRT preparation on going Counters / Trackers for the CRT under preparation @ KEK and Nagoya Some iron / concrete blocks also reserved in May Pb blocks not found yet (What size is the block?) CRT setup: A backup option proposed One of the simplest CRT setups (only for data taking this summer) Fast & easy construction is a key point due to the tight schedule. 12th B2GM 2012/7/23
