Role of Account Management at ERCOT Update on 2008 ERCOT Market Participant Survey April 4, 2008 TAC Meeting – ERCOT Public
Introduction and Background In 2003, Opinion Dynamics was engaged to conduct a primary research effort to measure Market Participant perceptions of ERCOT’s performance with respect to meeting its responsibilities. Initial survey of 2004 was used to establish a baseline. Subsequent 2006 survey was used to track against this baseline and to specific functions and issues of particular interest to ERCOT management and Market Participants. Results of 2008 survey will allow for continued tracking against the baseline established through the 2004 survey.
Market Participant Survey Tasks January: Met with ERCOT CEO to discuss survey objectives, deliverables, and proposed timeline. February: Conducted in-depth interviews with key ERCOT stakeholders & department heads to review relevant sections of survey instrument & identify necessary revisions Briefed Chairman, HR and Governance Committee. ERCOT staff presentations sent to TAC, PRS, COPS, RMS, WMS, and ROS. March: Opinion Dynamics completed necessary revisions to existing modular survey instrument & delivered draft to key ERCOT staff Briefed HR and Governance Committee. Opinion Dynamics notified potential respondents. April/May: Opinions Dynamics has begun fielding the survey to identified market participants & stakeholders via Internet. June/July: Opinion Dynamics will analyze all quantitative data obtained & provide report with key findings & trend analysis to ERCOT Board of Directors comparing results to the 2004 & 2006 results. Opinion Dynamics will provide final survey results to ERCOT on or about July 11th. Task 1: Convene a project kickoff meeting with key ERCOT stakeholders
