Class Rules Be Prompt Be Prepared Be Polite Be Productive
1. Being Prompt: You will be marked tardy if you are not in your seat before the bell rings! If you have more than one tardy in a five week period your cooperation grade will go down, and three or more is a “U”! Your parents are called every time you are tardy and absent.
2. Being Prepared Bring all your supplies and completed homework. This is your work habits grade. Have supplies out and textbook open as soon as you enter the class. Do not interrupt me in the first five minutes of class.
3. Be Polite Raise your hand if you want to speak or get out of your seat for any reason. Please do not talk when it isn’t your turn. Please stay in your seat. Keep hands, objects, and comments to yourself. Don’t say “Mrs. Shores!”
3. Be Productive Follow the teacher’s directions. Stay on task. Do what you are supposed to be doing when you are told to do it or you will fall behind the rest of the class. We don’t want to start a “snow ball”!
Consequences: When you do not follow the rules you will have consequences such as: Paper Pickup Seat Change Parent call, email, or note Time Out in another room Kept after class to make up time Referral to the Dean
Classroom Procedures There are procedures for beginning class. There are procedures for ending class. There are procedures for sharpening a pencil and getting supplies. There are procedures for leaving the room. There are procedures for blowing your nose. What to do when you are sick.
Beginning Procedures You enter the room quietly and sit down. You take out your supplies and homework. Open your textbook. You write down your homework in your Agenda Book. You begin the warm-up. ALL OF THIS IS DONE SILENTLY!!!!
Ending Procedures: Begin when teacher tells you to begin, not when you choose to begin. Pack up: Puts supplies and notebook away. Stack up classroom set of textbooks. Wait for me to dismiss you. Collect trash and throw it away as you leave. Lift up and push in chairs quietly. Last period of the day put chairs up.
Sharpening a Pencil You are supposed to have a pencil sharpener and receptacle of your own at your desk. Please do not ask to use pencil sharpener during class. You may use class sharpener only prior to the bell.
Leaving the Room You must take the hall pass with you. You will be allowed to leave the room for emergency only. You will need to fill out a separate pass to go to the nurse. If leaving early you will need an office pass.
Blowing your nose Please be polite when you need to blow your nose and go to the back of the room and dispose of it properly and wash hands. You are asked to have your own tissues so that you don’t need to interrupt class to get a tissue. If it becomes a continuous problem, your parents will be called.
When you are sick STAY HOME! When you return bring a note. You can get your homework from the C.O. If you can’t stay home make sure you have plenty of tissues and wash your hands constantly. When you sneeze, do so in your arm, not on your hand so that you have the virus on your hands to spread disease.

Pillars of Character Trustworthiness Respect Responsibility Fairness Caring Citizenship
Trustworthiness: Be Honest Cheating is dishonest. Copying someone else’s homework is cheating. Once trust is lost it is hard to get it back.
Working Together Help each other with difficult tasks Our tables are our teams. (PODS) Form study groups. Have a study buddy that you can call if you get stuck.
Citizenship Tell an adult if someone is in need of help. Help us keep the campus clean and free of problems. Clean up after yourself after lunch and nutrition. Leave the classroom cleaner then when you found it.
School Code Be Safe Be Responsible Be Respectful If we all do our part we will have a great school!
