Battle of Stalingrad Maggie, Cassie, Robyn

Stalingrad The battle of Stalingrad (Aug. 1042-1943) was the turning point in WW2. It stopped the German advance into the soviet union and marked the turning point in the tide of war in favor of the allies. The Stalingrad battle took place in Russia. The war lasted 5 grueling months. German defeat at Stalingrad ended the Nazis east-ward. Germans lost 300,000 soldiers including 90,000 prisoners 24 of them included German generals. The cold/snow might have effected the men but it had no effect on their victory. Hitler could not break through he soviet lines during the battle.

Significance The significance of this battle was that it stopped the Germans from fighting the soviet union. The did not fight them again unless it was the defensive.

Evidence

Cause and effect Cause of Stalingrad was a counter attack to a German attack on the soviet union. Effect was they defeated the Germans, forcing them to never fight the union again.
