Main Street Improvements Roundabout at Orange Avenue to Main Street $1,100,000 An Engineering Firm was contracted in September 2012 to complete Design & Construction Plans (100%). Engineering shall be completed by March 31, 2013. A presentation to the City Commission for final approval of the roundabout design is scheduled for April/May of 2013. Staff recommending construction in 2014.
N. Palm Avenue Streetscape Improvements (western side of N. Palm Ave between Café Epicure bulb-out improvements and Cocoanut Ave) $236,700 A contract was signed in May 2012 with David W. Johnston Associates and Cavoli Engineering to develop final (100%) engineering plans and construction documents. Plans were completed in September 2012. Staff is recommending postponing construction until Spring 2013.

First Street Improvements (US41 to Pineapple Ave) $1,635,000 City Staff is developing a Request for Proposals (RFP) in order to hire an engineering firm for design and engineering (100%) of the project. Release of the RFP is expected in October 2012 with an Engineering Services Contract to be presented to the City Commission in December 2012. Engineering and design would be completed by May 2013. A RFP for construction services could be released in June 2013 and a construction contract brought before the City Commission prior to the end of August 2013. Construction could begin on the project in the fall of 2013 however; delay is recommended in order to coincide with the prospective hotel development on Palm Avenue and their respective off-site improvements.
State Street Parking Garage $7,279,341 The RFP was posted on September 25, 2012. The Phase I Preliminary Engineering portion of the contract will be presented to the City Commission in March 2013. Preliminary design plans are to be completed by July 2013. The Phase II, Final Design and Construction Contract is scheduled to be presented to the City Commission in September 2013. Construction will be completed prior to February 1, 2015.
