Administrator – The Boundary Spanner Working away in the back ground Linking all worlds together The SU&C voice is heard loud and clear. Maintaining standards.

Why the PPG? Involvement of a wide range of people experienced in health and social care is of great value to education. Stories and history of experiences help people understand the needs and expectations of individuals. Input from ‘experts by experience’ gives people a better understanding of what it is like to be on the receiving end of health and social care.

Aims & Objectives Develop the right values, knowledge and attitudes to support your client group Service users and carers have opportunity to make a difference and influence future health and social care. Help you apply and relate theory and research to practice. Learning in the School is a joint endeavour and service users and carers, students, academics and practice colleagues work in partnership Continuous improvement to care delivery

How do we get involved? Open Days Interviews Research Involvement Classroom How do we get involved? Community & Social Committee Work Strategy & Training

Citizenship Model Citizen at the centre Services negotiated Entitlements defined Community fully engaged Outcomes improved = life is better Aiming for a citizenship model if we consider this in terms of co-production it means working together to co-produce and achieve what is best for the person at the centre.

Professional gift model The underlying system of power: ‘we know best’ Professionals and commissioners work out, in good faith, what they think we need They buy things they think will help We have to slot in We feel we should be grateful as stay as passive recipients We have not re-thought power As opposed to the professional model
