What is the Preamble? The Preamble is the introduction to the US Constitution. In the Preamble, the Founding Fathers listed the six goals they had set out for the new government
1. “Form a more perfect union” promote better cooperation between the national and state governments and among the many state governments
2. “Establish justice” make fair laws that Are applied to all citizens equally
3. “Insure domestic tranquility” keep communities safe from crime and disorder
4. “Provide for the common defense” prevent attacks from foreign nations
5. “Promote the general welfare” improve the quality of people’s lives
6. “Secure the blessings of liberty” Allow people to be free from unnecessary and unjust laws Protect people’s rights to “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness”
