Take out your notebook, pencil box and folder. No question today! Walk-In HAND IN YOUR HOMEWORK PROJECT NOW, TO YOUR PERIOD’S BASKET! CHECK NAME IS ON IT! Take out your notebook, pencil box and folder. No question today! Wait quietly for attendance. Find your poster from the stack on the table.

RETURNED WORK A stack of papers will be placed in the middle of your table. Sort out/hand out the papers to the correct people. If someone’s papers are at the wrong table quietly give them their papers while we work on the project. In the last 15 minutes today, we will pollinate our plants!

Understanding xylem, phloem and photosynthesis! Plant Poster Project Understanding xylem, phloem and photosynthesis!

Plant Poster Project You will create a poster to help you review plant facts, while being creative and following directions! In the trunk, include strips of information about xylem and phloem, and show the direction of movement in these tubes. In the leaves, include facts about photosynthesis and transportation system and vascular structure.

Materials 1 white construction paper for the background You will receive: 1 white construction paper for the background 1 sheet of green leaves for writing facts. 1 blue strip for xylem, 1 pink strip for phloem You may use: markers, crayons, coloring pencils, scissors, glue sticks, tape, your imagination!

Write facts on your sheet of green leaves. Use the directions here to write on each of your leaves. Have Mrs. Ryan check your paper before you start cutting and gluing!

After getting your paper checked, cut your leaves apart.

Name Write your first and last name, and the period #, in the TOP LEFT CORNER.

Draw a tree trunk. Remember: Leave space to arrange the leaves LATER where you want them to go.

Xylem and Phloem Strips Write xylem facts on the blue strips, and phloem facts on the pink strips. Make an arrow tip to show the direction the materials flow.

Add roots and grass line at the bottom.

Glue on the leaves. USE VERY LITTLE GLUE! Add branches.

Color in the tree, sun, grass, sky, etc. DO NOT COLOR WITH MARKERS Color in the tree, sun, grass, sky, etc. DO NOT COLOR WITH MARKERS! USE CRAYONS!

Neatly label parts of the tree and things that are needed for photosynthesis.

Be ready to turn in your poster at the end of class! Make sure your poster reflects work you are proud to turn in!
