Situation 35+ students in one classroom Children in Mexico read an average of 2.9 books per year (Encuesta Nacional de CONACULTA, 2005) Need for school libraries (PNL, SEP) 35+ students in one classroom Little support for struggling readers (cite) Books are expensive 4.5 hour school day leaves little reading/library time Little access to books for recreational reading

Assumptions Students want to read and have access to books NHS students value leadership training Parents want their children to read and to enjoy reading Educators value reading and want their students to improve

Inputs NHS members ASPV students and teachers Outside donors of money, books and school supplies Volunteers
