Consonant Digraphs

Chin = Noun; the part of the face below the mouth and above the neck. Example: She has a beautiful small chin. Likable = Adjective; like, easy to like. Example: Amira is a likable girl.

Itch = Verb; to have a feeling on the skin that makes you want to rub it with your nails. Example: The insect bite on my arm itches.

Push = Verb; to move something. Example: The man pushes the broken car.

Chef = Noun; the person who cooks in a restaurant. Example: The chef is cooking delicious pasta.

When = Adverb; at what time Example: When is your birthday?

Wash = Verb; make something clean by using water and soap Example: Wash your hands after lunch.

Much = Adjective; big in amount Example: There isn’t much time before the end of the class.

Sharp = Adjective, having a thin edge or a fine point for cutting Example: Use a sharp knife to cut the vegetables.

Pitch = Verb; to throw Example: He pitched the ball of paper into the garbage can.

Where = Adverb; in which place Example: Where is Egypt on the map?

Peach = Noun; type of fruit Example: Peach is my favorite fruit.

Child = Noun; a young person Example: The cute child is playing

Wheat = Noun; a grain that is used in making flour for bread and other foods. Example: We use wheat to make bread.

Chance = Noun; an opportunity, possibility Example: I asked the teacher for another chance to behave in class.

Machine = Noun; tool used to make or do something. Example: I wash my clothes in the washing machine.
