Important Upcoming Dates A Peek At What We Are Learning Ms. Mick’s Class News A Note From Ms. Mick Important Upcoming Dates Wednesday, October 11: Unit 2 Math Test Friday, October 13: ½ Day, Students dismiss at 11:40am Friday, October 13: Narrative Elements & Sequencing Assessment This week the students will be getting out of school early on Friday for the Homecoming parade at 3:00pm. I will be sending home a signup sheet for conferences in November on Wednesday. If you could please select a time and send that back to school with your student no later than Friday, October 13. I would like to have a finalized schedule by the end of next week! A Peek At What We Are Learning Reading Writing and Grammar Word Study Students will continue to work on their reading comprehension with their assigned fiction novel We will be discussing the writing process and particular grammar concepts. We will be working on verb tenses. The students will start working on their rough draft of their personal narrative writings. I am hoping we can finish these writings by Friday! Students will receive their new words Monday and be assessed Friday. They will complete a variety of activities throughout the week to practice their spelling and word sorts Math We will be reviewing for our Unit 2 math test on Wednesday. This test includes multiplying two digit numbers, greater numbers, decimals, and the distributive property. Geography We are starting our study of the Northeast Region of the United States.
