Vehicles/Driving The Driver's Privacy Protection Act of 1994 (also referred to as the "DPPA”) is a United States federal statute governing the privacy and disclosure of personal information gathered by state Departments of Motor Vehicles. The law was passed in 1994. It was introduced by Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia in 1992, after an increase in opponents of abortion rights using public driving license databases to track down and harass abortion providers and patients. But, we can find criminal proceedings (DUIs, speeding, etc.)

Licenses License Lookup Center https://www.elicense.ct.gov/lookup/licenselookup.aspx Lobbyists: http://www.oseapps.ct.gov/NewLobbyist/security/loginhome.aspx

Why isn’t more online? Industry lobbies – keep info from being put online. Industry has lobbied the State to keep reports about bad nursing homes from being offered electronically. Nursing Home Reports – Not Online http://memberofthefamily.net/registry/oh.htm
