YOUNG PEOPLE IN EUROPEANFORESTS-FOREST FIREPROTECTION IN POLAND AND EUROPE

At the begining let’s remind ourselves what is the forest This is the place in which we will find many diverse species of animals and plants. In Poland we stand out three types of forests: mixed coniferous deciduous

mixed coniferous deciduous

It’s worth mentioning the layered construction of forests Tree crowns Underbrush Undergrowth Underground layer Litter

Tree crowns - branches and boughs of trees Underground layer - development roots trees and bushes and soil with inhabitants Litter - contains live microorganisms and dead remains of fauna and flora Undergrowth - lower vegetation, for example: herbs, grass, moss, mushrooms, low bushes and lichens Underbrush - a layer up to 4 meters where there are small trees and bushes Tree crowns - branches and boughs of trees

People are responsible for 90% of fires.

Interview with the chief of Fire Departament in Rydułtowy Mr Krzysztof Ograbek

Fire in the Kuźnia Raciborska 26th of August – 12th of September 1992

Film made for 20th anniversary of the biggest fire in Poland in Kuźnia Raciborska

Forest after fire

The reason of the fire in Kuźnia Raciborska was a spark generated by the train brakes.

The presentation was made by Laura Machnik, Weronika Dyrbuś and Jeremiasz Zawadzki. Class: 2 To School: Zespół Szkół Technicznych in Rybnik Kościuszki 5 street
