CONCEPT PHILOSOPHY To reach the current design goals there will be design solutions to help with success. First addressing the idea of getting people to buy multiple pairs of glasses, a good solution can be in space planning. By putting the glasses, which are a need versus a want in the furthest possible location from the entrance of the store it forces customers to pass the other lenses no matter what. Placing them there can possibly attract them to more innovative glasses, which potentially can be more pricey or unneeded. To address the aesthetic of the store it is best to look at what sort of people are buying glasses and what is popular right now. One of the biggest trends right now is the “Hipster glasses”; the big black rimmed glasses. Having the environment based along the hipster lines will bring in a bunch of business because it will be hip and cool and also have the popular lenses in it for people to purchase. This will be achieved by the colors chosen as well as the inspiration and concept going into the design. To reach the third key concept there will be a circular flow of traffic but also multiple different paths a customer can take. There is a radial layout with the lounge area in the middle. By having the lounge in the center of the room the people sitting and waiting will have a good vision of everything and can get up to look at whatever they desire while waiting for their consultations. As previously mentioned the sale and regular frames are in the back so a customer has to pass the innovative and designer frames before selecting something potentially cheaper. Along with that the open work area will be directly near the exit so the employees can keep an eye on everything going on in the store as well as being able to keep an eye from the office with the half mirror half window.
