Ethical interviewing Police have historically made a distinction between interviewing (an attempt to obtain useful information from a witness) and interrogation (an attempt to induce a suspect to confess to a crime).
Police interrogation tactics (Inbau et al, 2013) Widely used in US and elsewhere but NOT UK (or at least, shouldn’t be used due to PACE). Custody and isolation. Confrontation (accuse; block denials). Minimisation.
