What is Social Work? Social workers' main goal is to help others improve their lives by: Helping individuals, families, groups and communities improve their lives. Advocating for social justice. Working towards understanding human behavior in the social environment.

What is Social Work? Poverty Loss Discrimination Unemployment Abuse A profession with the goal of helping individuals, families, groups, and communities with issues such as: Poverty Loss Discrimination Unemployment Abuse Educational problems Addiction Disability Physical Illness Mental illness Divorce And many more.

In Summary Social Workers "help prevent crises and counsel individuals, families, [groups] and communities to cope more effectively with the stresses of everyday life" (NASW website, 2015).

You'll never be bored since you can Work in a variety of settings including: healthcare, school, government, for-profit and nonprofit.
