Bring the Family In Now we will talk about how to involve the family in starting healthy habits.

Involve the Whole Family It is important to involve the whole family in starting healthy habits If you are all doing it, it is easier to do Deciding on habits as a family will make you feel closer and each person will have a voice If each person agrees to the habit, the habit will be easier to remember It is important to involve the whole family in starting healthy habits. If you are all doing these habits together, they are easier to do. Deciding on habits as a family will make you feel closer. Letting the family decide together means each person has a voice in which habits you choose. If each person agrees to the habit, the habit will stick better.

Ways to Involve the Family First, think of some ideas on your own Keep them simple to start Get your family together to discuss your ideas Be ready to explain why it is good for the family Ask for other ideas Be open to the ideas Have each person explain why the habit is good for the family Take a vote on the habit or habits to start As a family, think of ways to start the habit There are many ways you can involve your family in starting habits. Generally, start by thinking of ideas on your own. Make sure you keep them simple to start. Get your family together to talk about your ideas and explain why you chose them. Ask your family for other ideas and be ready to listen to their reasons for choosing these habits. Take a vote on which habit or habits you want to start together. As a family, think of ways to start the habit. For example, if you choose to eat dinner together, you may choose a few nights of the week to start. Let’ move on to our role play to test out these techniques.
