1 Timothy 5:17 17 The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.
1 Timothy 5:18 18 For the Scripture says, “Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.”
1 Timothy 5:19 19 Do not entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is brought by two or three witnesses.
1 Timothy 5:20 20 Those who sin are to be rebuked publicly, so that the others may take warning.
Elder/Church Relation The profile of purpose for the church and the definition of leadership for the elder: The elders serve God first then the church. Leadership and authority are an exercise of cohesion.
Elder/Church Relation 3. The revealed precedent formalizes this relation. 4. The maintenance of this relation is an act of faith.
Elder/Church Relation 5. Spiritual leadership never conforms to the contours of human experience. 6. The relation between elder and church is a measure to achieve biblical ideals.
