The Shield of Boundaries 3D Exploration

Session 1: Warm-up Draw a logo or symbols that represent things you enjoy.

Challenge Create a cardboard shield designed with an original symbol that represents something in your life that makes you feel stronger.

Questions to consider Is there a physical object that makes you feel strong? A person? Place? Game? Song? An action? An idea? A memory? How can your turn whatever it is into a symbol? (A symbol is a simplified image that is used to represent something.)

Agenda Sketch ideas for your shield. Select 1 idea & sketch it large on the back of your handout. Label which 3D parts will project from the shield. Group talks 3. 2. 1.

Group Talks Share your symbol design with your table mates and tell them how you came up with the idea.

Session 2: Warm-up Draw or describe where you think you may see a shield being used.
