Main Titles

Origins The company's name originated from the four founding Warner brothers ; Harry, Albert, Sam, and Jack Warner. Jack, the youngest, was born in London, Ontario. The three elder brothers began in the movie theatre business, having acquired a movie projector with which they showed films in the mining towns of Pennsylvania and Ohio. In the beginning, Sam and Albert Warner invested $150 to present Life of an American Fireman and The Great Train Robbery. They opened their first theatre, the Cascade, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, in 1903. They continued in investing in the company and by World War 1 they were in full swing in producing their own films and showing them in their own theatres acting as vertical integration as they own the production and distribution line. As the studio prospered, it gained backing from Wall Street, and in 1924 Goldman Sachs arranged a major loan. With this new money, the Warners bought the pioneer Vitagraph Company which had a nationwide distribution system. This meant that the warner company could continue in spreading themselves over the production line, minimalizing outgoing while keeping or even boosting the n comings. In 1925, Warners' also experimented in radio, establishing a successful radio station, KFWB, in Los Angeles.

LIONSGATE (independent film company) Lions Gate is a film producer and distributer originated from Canada but is now situated in Santa Monica, California. They specialise in motion pictures, television programming, home entertainment and family entertainment. Lionsgate tent to produce films in the genre of horror, drama, action and thrillers. They are associated with several household film names like; Kick Ass;(distributors), Rambo(producers and Distributors), and the hunger games. They have only just switched to producing horror films due to market pull and the high demand in next generation, scarier horror films.

Horror films On from that, lions gate have just started producing horror films, in the last 5 years they have become noticed for making successful, scary films that sell. This includes massive films like Saw 3D(distributors), Saw 1,2,3,4,5,6 (distributors), the last exorcism(distributors) and The Eye which they actually produced and distributed. These films have acted as a great success and now Lionsgate can be seen frequently before many horror films and has become a house hold name.
