Pierre LAURENT - CLEPA

Strategy for simplification Ideas for a „Strategy for simplification“ generated at CLEPA during a meeting on 2014-07-29 Based on discussion of SIG meeting on 2014-06-11 and document CE-5021 (slide 5 and 6)

Option 1 3 paralell documents, like GTB proposal

Strategy for simplification Identify common clauses in the device regulations Classify them as „administrative“ or „technical“ „administrative common clauses“ are integrated into an Annex of XXX [to be defined] „technical common clauses“ are integrated into the „reference regulation“ R6 is the reference regulation for signaling devices (SL) R112 is the reference regulation for front lighting devices (FL) R3 is the reference regulation for retro-reflectors (RR) The device regulations are maintained and contain only the remaining “device specific” (i.e. “non-common”) clauses, as well as reference to the relevant clauses of XXX and the “reference regulation” For each device regulations, it needs to be decided which clauses are „administrative common clauses“ , „technical common clauses“ or “device specific clauses”

Reference regulations Strategy for simplification All lighting device regulations Central reference in XXX (R3) Common Clauses R4 (R6) R7 R23 Common Clauses Administrative R38 R50 Common Clauses Technical R65 R77 R87 R91 etc R6 (SL) R112 (FL) R3 (RR) etc Reference regulations

Option 2 2 parallel documents Preferred by CLEPA
