Excuses I don’t like to sing. I’m not good at singing. Too loud, too soft, too unprofessional, too professional, leader hard to follow, too many songs, not enough songs, didn’t know the songs, knew the songs too well, not lively enough, too lively, too new, too old, too much repetition, too hard to learn, etc
John Wesley - 1761 “See that you join with the congregation as frequently as you can. Let not a single degree of weakness or weariness hinder you. If it is a cross to you, take it up, and you will find it a blessing.”

If it is a cross to you, take it up, and you will find it a blessing.” “Sing lustily and with good courage. Beware of singing as if you were half dead, or half asleep; but lift up your voice with strength. Be no more afraid of your voice now, nor more ashamed of its being heard, then when you sung the songs of Satan.”
Psalm 95:3-5 3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
Psalm 95:6,7a 6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! 7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

Psalm 95:7b-11 Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, 9 when your fathers put me to the test and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work. 10 For forty years I loathed that generation and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways.” 11 Therefore I swore in my wrath, “They shall not enter my rest.”

REST IS STILL ON THE TABLE! Isaiah 53:6a All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned – every one – to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. REST IS STILL ON THE TABLE!
Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Hebrews 4:1,9-10 Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
