Getting started Taking the back off your new phone Pinch non-camera end between thumb and fingers; this appears to release the vacuum ‘Peel’ the camera end back Do not use a ‘tool’ to help you

Basic buttons On/off (press & hold) Screen ‘wake-up/lock Volume control – rocker switch

Swipe Swipe up (from just above the Microsoft 4 x squares icon) to access your phone Swipe down (from just below the Microsoft label) to access settings Swipe left to access A-Z list of apps

Customising your home screen You can customise your home screen to suit you and the way you use your phone. Remove all the tiles you will not use. Remember you are only removing them from the home screen; they are not gone for good! Touch and hold a tile until a pin and arrow appear Tap the pin to remove the tile from the home screen Tap the arrow to increase/decrease the size of the tile Tap and hold until the pin and arrow appear and then you can drag and drop each tile to where you want it to appear on the home screen.

Finding lost or missing tiles You may accidentally remove a useful tile from your home screen. DO NOT WORRY! It is very easy to find and reposition on the home screen. Search for your ‘missing’ tile; when found touch and hold on it until options appear. Tap Pin to start Swipe from right to left If Pin to start greyed out, this means it is already on your home screen. Look for it in a folder …..it might be hiding!
