ROMAN ARCHITECTURE

Notes Roman Architecture The Romans “conquered” Greece around 200-100 B.C. They used architecture to show that they were in charge. They built many buildings in the Roman style. Where ever Rome ruled, the cities benefited from new roads, bridges, sewers and aqueducts. The Romans developed the arch, vault, dome, and they discovered concrete.

The Roman Arch Roman Architecture The arch was an important contribution by the Romans to architecture. The KEYSTONE is the stone at the top, middle.
