Public, community recreation purposes Items of a permanent, non-consumable, capital nature Projects where the need for financial assistance is demonstrated Applications are available through-out the year. Investing in Our Future Sport and Recreation Funding Programs Recreation Facility Development This Program assist community groups, municipalities and other ‘not-for-profit’ organizations to develop facilities in order to increase participation in sport and physical recreation. Recreation centres and halls pools, arenas, athletic field, parks and playgrounds and trails Enhanced schools for community use Other facilities that promote sport and physical recreation  Approved projects are eligible to receive up to one-third of the total capital cost of the project to a maximum of $150,000. Investing in Our Future Sport and Recreation Funding Programs Planning Assistance Program The Planning Assistance Program assists community organizations and municipalities in obtaining professional assistance in planning, designing and researching proposed and existing sport and recreation facilities. Funding is available for up to 50 percent of the total cost of the project to a maximum of $5,000. Applications are available through-out the year.
