Vicon National Sales Meeting Tampa, Florida October 16-18, 2008 ViconNet Version 5 Sales Meeting Oct. 2008 Vicon National Sales Meeting Tampa, Florida October 16-18, 2008

Release Software is expected to be released by the end of October 2008 The version 5 products will be available for sale at that time It is still recommended not to sell V5 to those customers who don’t need V5 features, so we can have a controlled release

ViconNet Version 5 New software version includes a list of enhancements to the system Open Platform Mega Pixel cameras support Enhanced Analytics Integration Improved display offerings Multicast and MPEG4 support Quick playback for IP cameras Running as a service VMC maps, pre-view and status enhancements

Open Platform What is open platform? Specific for ViconNet The ability to accept many to any IP-based video into the video management system Allow 3rd party cameras to be used in the ViconNet software Specific for ViconNet Keep supporting our own “build for security” cameras Support all cameras on same GUI

Supported Cameras The following is a list of the cameras that have been tested and approved, other model from same manufacturers are likely to work as well but we can not guarantee without testing! Remember! We depend on the manufacturer for compatibility

3rd party cameras tested Axis – 211Q, 223(MP), 233(MP), 241 (server), 247 (PTZ) Sony – SNC-RZ25N (PTZ), SNC-DF50N Panasonic – WV-NP244, WV-NS202A ACTi – N-IX1000AV, SCM-5611B (MP) Arecont – AV3100, AV5100, AV8180 (dome), AV8360 (dome). Soon to support H.264 IQeye – 302, 511

Open Platform “Issues” Every camera comes with a different set of supported functions Camera update will probably require ViconNet to update Most of these cameras are browser based and do not allow the same recording abilities as we get with ViconNet

Mega Pixel Camera Support Add the ability to support the high resolution Mega pixel cameras Support the new I-Onyx 955 line as well as 3rd party mega pixel cameras Support Live and playback on ViconNet and VMC (VMC in MJPEG only) Support digital zooming

Enhanced Analytics Integration Enhance the integration between ViconNet and the analytics server Transparent communication Graphical feedback on live and playback eliminates the need for the VI monitor software Common user and alarms interface Analytics is value-added to video

Display Offering Support various resolution for the ViconNet GUI according to the PC spec Adapt camera display to either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio to present a correct video image

Multicast and MPEG4/H.264 The requests for multicast support as well as the need to support MPEG4 and H.264 compression is growing Various manufactures already offer their IP cameras with these options ViconNet 5 supports multicast with some of the these features with some of the 3rd party cameras (will be provided) The new I-Onyx 857 and 955 also offer MPEG4 and Multicast supported by ViconNet

Quick Playback for IP cameras Enhancement allowing performing quick playback of an IP camera or encoder, without the need to record them locally on the viewing workstation This feature is automatic and requires the camera to be recorded by macro somewhere in the system

ViconNet as Service This new feature solves an important IT requirement Allows ViconNet to run as a service in the background, no GUI and allows locking the system down This is mainly relevant for NVRs Resumes itself automatically in case of machine reboot, with no need of login

VMC Enhancements Support of MAP GUI in VMC Indication of another person using a certain monitor Pre-view of a camera in the pre-view window even if there is no KRX defined in the system Remember! I-Onyx 857 and 955 must be set to MJPEG to work in VMC!

Storage With New Cameras ViconNet based camera (existing models) have similar resolution to the Version 4 ones New cameras 857 and 955 are MPEG4 based or MJPEG (if using VMC) The recommended setting for these cameras is a constant bit rate (not subject to motion) for optimal operation Storage in MPEG4 is very similar to what we have today, MJPEG is a larger storage Separate storage calculator will be provided for these cameras

Expected Recording Duration Video Maximum Bit Rate (K) Table 1: Constant Bit Rate Guidelines (MPEG-4 Mode*) Recordin Video Settings Expected Recording Duration Resolution Frame Rate Video Maximum Bit Rate (K) 1 day 7 days 30 days NTSC PAL 1.3 Megapixel (1280x1024, CMOS) 8 (constant mode) 2000 21.6 G 151.2 G 648.0 G 4 (constant mode) 1200 13.0 G 90.7 G 388.8 G 2 (constant mode) 500 5.4 G 37.8 G 162.0 G 1 (constant mode) 256 2.8 G 19.4 G 82.9 G D1 (720x480@NTSC, 720x576@PAL) 30 25 1500 16.2 G 113.4 G 486.0 G 15 12 750 8.1 G 56.8 G 243.1 G 10 8 CIF (352x240@NTSC, 352x288@PAL) 384 4.1 G 29.1 G 124.4 G 5 128 1.4 G 9.7 G 41.5 G *For Storage Calculator in M-JPEG mode, contact your Vicon Sales Representative. Table 2: Variable Bit Rate Parameters Video Quality Min-Max Bit Rate High ~1Mbps ~4.6Mbps Middle ~500kbps ~2.6Mbps Low ~300 kbps ~1.8Mbps

Compatibility Version 5 supports ViconNet version 4 devices In order to support the new features, the Nucleus must be upgraded to V5 Any device that doesn’t need to support new features can stay on V4 Example: existing system with 2 KEX and a workstation wants to add 2 Sony cameras. They will need to upgrade the WS to V5 with 2 3rd party license. The WS will both the DVRs and the Sony cameras while the DVRs will only each other until they are also upgraded to V5.

Version 5 Licenses 3rd Party camera connection fee One time per camera fee Nucleus holds all licenses for the system Can be added on VN-WS-SW and VN-WS-PC Full control and management of the system without the ability to record (VN-1000 with no recording) Lower Price than the current VN-1000 VN-NVR-SW and VN-NVR-PC Same as current VN-1000 Meant to run primarily as NVR Higher Price than the current VN-1000

The Next Generation – Version 6 Version 6 is scheduled for late 2009 to include the following: Map enhancements Event bookmarking and external alarms integration tools Web browser viewer application IT compliance enhancements Auto-archiving of video Events based video segment lock

Map Enhancements PTZ control from maps Video on maps Alarm indication on map icons Camera position indication Absolute position feedback from dome

Event Bookmarking Allow adding a text bookmark to a video segment during live view Allow accepting bookmarks from external sources such as: POS, ATM and others Allow searching the video by those bookmarks Supports alarms from “any” source to tag the video

Web Browser Create a web browser viewer software Self loading by browser (no installation) View and control any camera Run on any web browser Allow remote connectivity over the Internet from “any” browser Support of non-Microsoft browsers

IT Compliance Allow the transmission of video in Multicast mode for lower bandwidth networks from DVRs and ViconNet IP cameras / encoders Support existing standard network formats as well as new TCP/IP standards (IPV6) Integrate with Microsoft Active Directory for user management

Auto Archiving of video Allow automatic archives of video from the ViconNet system FIFO database to a permanent storage location Expected to support archive on schedule and event

Event Video Lock Allow pre/post alarm segments to be locked into the database Protect locked video from being overwritten by FIFO of database

New IP Cameras and Encoders Develop and support more IP cameras and new encoders: Higher resolution (Mega Pixel range) Higher FPS Built-in analytics Better pricing This is an support process parallel to the transition into IP-based systems

KTX The Next Generation Current KTX-4 is underpowered and we can’t support enough cameras at real-time Will have a new KTX-4 with 4 real-time channels in ViconNet and H.264 in Q2-2009 Depending on demand for encoders might be followed by new encoders

New Storage Solution Planned move to iSCSI based SAN iSCSI uses copper CAT5/6 based wiring to reach the storage units Separate networks are created for TCP/IP and for storage Usually two NIC will be installed in every machine
