The Planet Play

Mercury (Kelly) Most sky observers have never seen Mercury before because its orbits are so close to the sun. Is almost and airless planet. Can be 800F.

Venus (Roland) Second closest planet to the sun. Venus has a thick cloudy poisonous atmosphere on the surface. Named after the goddess of love.

Earth (Riya) The planet earth is a globe that has 3 main layers; the crust, mantle and the core. We live on the layer called the crust, which is made of hard rocks. The crust is mostly covered with big bodies of water.

Mars (Brayan) Named after the Roman god of war because from earth it looks blood red. Really, the color of Martian soil is rusted red, not blood red. It is the fourth planet from the sun

Jupiter (Raul) Jupiter may have aliens on its moon. Jupiter is 484 million miles from the sun The surface of Jupiter is an ocean of liquid hydrogen 10,000 miles deep.

Saturn (Mrs. Park) Saturns rings are made of small ices cbes and chunks of rock. The rings reflect light very well so they are easily seen Mostly made of 2 very light gases, hydrogen and helium so it’s not very dense.

Neptune (Josh) Eighth planet from the sun. The gases in the atmosphere give Neptune a blue color. A gas giant about the same size as Uranus.

Uranus (Samanta) Uranus is a bluish green color The seventh planet from the sun. 1.8 billion miles away from the sun.

Pluto (Axel) Pluto receives a small bit of light from the sun Pluto is smaller than earths moon. Pluto was not discovered until 1930
