Do King Cobra’s growl because they can hear sounds?

What will it take to solve my problem? Research and do field test to figure out why King Cobra’s growl.

What do I know, and need to know, about my problem? They do it when provoked or challenged, I need to know the purpose behind this activity and can other snakes hear it.

A possible solution to my problem A possible solution to my problem. The simplest solution is often the best solution! Snakes cannot hear but they make this noise to each other as well as other animals. Does this mean that the King Cobra has evolved to hear this frequency?

Perform an experiment to see if your hypothesis works. To test this I will place two smaller King Cobras into separate pins. One will be introduced to the growl alone and the other will be introduced to the growl as well as a larger snake.

Data is the results of an experiment Data is the results of an experiment. In its simplest form, there are only two possible conclusions. If King Cobras can hear than both snakes will show reaction. If not than only the snake that saw the larger snake will react, meaning the growl is for other animals only.
