Unit 11: SOURCES OF ENERGY

Vocabularies

Geothermal heat [,dʒi:ou'θə:məl hi:t] : connected with the natural heat of rock deep in the ground. - E.g: The geothermal heat is also used for many other things.

Release (v) [ri'li:s] : - Set somebody/ something free Release (v) [ri'li:s] : - Set somebody/ something free. - Stop holding something. => Release + Somebody/something ( from something) E.g: Some chemical factories in the area are releasing pollutants into the air.

Renewable (a) [ri'nju:əbl] = replaceable - that can be renewed or extended. -E.g: Solar power is one type of renewable energy.

Resource (n) [ri'sɔ:s] : A supply of something that a country, an organization or a person has and can use, especially to increase their wealth. - E.g: Vietnam has a great solar resource.

Solar panel ['səulə(r) 'pænl] : a piece of equipment on a roof that uses light and heat energy from the sun to produce hot water and electricity. - E.g: The price of the solar panel is very expensive.

Nuclear energy (n) [ˈnjuːkliə(r) ˈenədʒi] = Nuclear power - It is used to produce electricity. E.g: She claimed that nuclear energy is the most environmentally safe form of energy.
