What works for Science (for you) There are many revision techniques but a couple on the next slide seem particularly suitable Spider Diagrams Revision Cards/Key Words Mind maps Kerboodle (with care)

Revision Cards (start with the mocks) Write a keyword on a card using your textbook for cues. Read the relevant part of the textbook. Come back to your cards and try to write notes on them (this tests your memory) You can then flick through the cards to help you remember. KEEP YOUR CARDS SAFE!

Mind Maps

Complete past papers USE KEYWORDS Mark them yourself to see where you are picking up and losing marks. Then read the examiners reports as they too give an idea of how to answer questions well.

Be honest with yourself: Where are you at with your revision? Is it really too early? Revision timetable, already? Past papers, mark schemes, examiners’ reports to be printed off Revision notes started (and somewhere safe to store them)? What are you going to do between now and start of exam season? Plan your lead up to the exams – look at the dates and work backwards.

Parents top tips (so I’ve heard….) Change the wifi code daily and release it when enough revision has been completed Remove any ‘gaming’ consoles from bedrooms. Make sure mobile phones are turned off during revision sessions. Feed and water them frequently and make them sleep!  Make sure they are coping and maintaining a balance between social time and study time.

Good luck We all know a sprinkling of good luck helps too. Most importantly, get organised, get practising, know keywords, their meanings and all of the basic ‘re-call knowledge’ (such physics equations) and put this around the house!
